MTN SME Data Share – An Overview

It also makes it super easy for all staff to have access to the internet, regardless of their geographical location. In addition, the employer would have complete control of the data sharing and management process, making it a win – win solution for small enterprises.
How to subscribe and use the data sharing service of MTN SME
Basically, MTN offers three subscription plans for this service. These include data plans N5,500, N11,000 and N25,000 that offer 10 GB, 20 GB and 50 GB and are valid for 30 days, 30 days and 60 days.
You should migrate to the SME Plus Service Class by dialing* 460 # or texting 460 to 131 to purchase any of these packages.
Your account can be recharged via VTU, recharge card, check or even Quickteller. Data sharing can be of different sizes. In particular, the permitted share data sizes are 250 MB, 500 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB and 5 GB.
A sponsor may share up to 10 times and may share several times with a single beneficiary if its limit is not exceeded. Beneficiaries are also prohibited from receiving data from more than one sponsor. Furthermore, the data received by a beneficiary has the same period of validity as the originating bundle of data and expires.
How to share data and balance data
It’s easy to share data with this service. You can do so via SSD or SMS .
Simply send the keyword SMEA + phone number + amount + PIN to 131 to share data via SMS. However, you must ensure that you only share the allowed data sizes. This is explained further in the figure below.
You can also share via USSD by dialing *461# and following the prompt.
Sponsors can also check their data balance by sending DATABALANCE to 131 while recipients can check their data balance by sending SHAREBALANCE to 131 in writing.
You can also check your data balance by calling* 461 #, whether you are a sponsor or a beneficiary. There is certainly no better tool than MTN SME Data Share to have a firm grip on the internet usage of your staff.
